my cousin luca is a high school graduate! a few weeks ago we drove to sacramento to attend his graduation party at his grandma's house. i'd never been to emma & hersh's home but they have a beautiful backyard perfect for a graduation party!
alec wasn't too happy about going to sacramento because of the heat but we lucked out... it was one of those awesome warm summer nights. it was nice to see everyone and hang out.
luca and his friends are off for a european trip before heading to college in the fall. he & stasi are going to SFSU, my alma mater. see you crazy kids in san francisco.
congratulations luca!

Juliet is One
last weekend i went to juliet's first birthday party in san francisco. the morning started off a little foggy but by the time the party got started it was sunny!
i have more photos to come in the next week... another wedding, 4th of july and my cousin's graduation party.
here's the birthday girl with her family & friends.
i love the look on her face. she's looking at a polaroid i took of her minutes before.
the pixie fairy was there to entertain the kids and do some face painting. the boys opted for arm painting instead. a snake and a train on their arms.
this dad was having fun

Jennifer + Jason
i worked with pat mazzera second shooting jennifer & jason's wedding in the presidio a couple sundays ago. they picked a beautiful day & location to be married. as you may know summer in san francisco doesn't necessarily mean it'll be a clear sunny day especially in the presidio. the couple had one ceremony in the chapel and another korean tea ceremony at the golden gate club. i'd never shot a korean ceremony so i was in for a treat. the tea ceremony was touching with all the family coming up to give their well wishes & advice for the couple. after the ceremonies they celebrated in the large reception room at the golden gate club into the night.

jennifer's dad gave a great speech which had everyone laughing!

New Glasses
while i was gone in seattle alec's new glasses arrived. i'd gone pre-appointment shopping with him to check out the selection so i kinda new what style he was going for. however, i was still anxious to see what he actually ended up with. the night i got home he showed them to me... they're so cute on him! a cross between buddy holly & superman. maybe even, dare i say, jack nicholson.
i pulled out a flash light and a plastic bag to try out something new i learned. of course i had to use alec as my model. here he is with his new glasses using the flashlight as the light source.

Anti-workshop
i returned last friday from the anti-workshop in seattle and all i can say is WOW. it was put on by the fabulous photographers the coopers from alt-f and the boutwells from boutwell studio. we learned so much about photography and business in general i'm still digesting all the info. it was great to be surrounded by so many other talented photogrpahers from all over. each day we had some "classroom" time and some shooting time. we even shot with polaroids which is always a favorite for me.
there was so much going on.... bowling, poloroids, parking garages, post alley, piggies, painting with light, ihop, shuttles, photoshop, beer, video lights, pike brewing pub, antiques, seattle underground and more.
on the second day we broke up into groups of 3 and we each had a bride model to shoot. our photo scavenger hunt consisted of 24 different shots to capture in two hours. that was a whirlwind of fun! here's some of our crazy, beautiful model bride, amber.

Seattle!
i'm in seattle today to attend a photography workshop for the week. i've been counting down the days! the photographers teaching the workshop do some amazing cool work so it should be a learning experience. plus i'll be with so many other talented photographers with all kinds of styles. fresh. this won't be a stuffy classroom workshop... it's at a brewery! and from what i hear there's some bowling action going down too!
