we've been friends with evan + nicole for some time. evan and i first met back in college, then we worked at the same company for a bit then they became our neighbors. earlier in the year they made the move to san rafael and started a family. i was so happy to get a few maternity photos and then finally meet little baby nolan! such a cute baby!
loving. fun. strong. emotional. supportive. brave. caring. hilarious. creative. my friend. and so many other words to describe my mom. our trip to NYC was to celebrate her birthday. it's been awhile since we both had a chance to travel together, i'm glad we made the trip.

this family has a lot of personality. noah could hardly sit still, he's so full of boy energy. notice his batman cape? he was tough to keep up with. josie was shy but she finally came around to like the camera. mom & dad have their hands full... in a good way.
we shot inside the house, outside on the lawn, on the trampoline and down the redwood path beind their house. mom wanted to get some family photos for holiday gifts. i think we got some good ones.
while i was gone in seattle alec's new glasses arrived. i'd gone pre-appointment shopping with him to check out the selection so i kinda new what style he was going for. however, i was still anxious to see what he actually ended up with. the night i got home he showed them to me... they're so cute on him! a cross between buddy holly & superman. maybe even, dare i say, jack nicholson.
i pulled out a flash light and a plastic bag to try out something new i learned. of course i had to use alec as my model. here he is with his new glasses using the flashlight as the light source.
