Downtown

last saturday alec and i rented a lens to check out. instead of getting back in the car we walked around downtown shooting. down the alley, through a parking lot and then we ended up at the greyhound station which had some amazing textures. there's some interesting characters lurking around there.

here's some fun pix.

Weddings too!

i've gotten a few requests about doing weddings and my answer is of course!

planning a wedding can be both stressful and full of excitement. i know that hiring a photographer is a huge thing to cross off the wedding "to do" list. couples & families put so much work towards the big day that documenting the day is such a special and important task. i think you and your photographer should click, share a "style" and have similar expectations. i hope to bring a fresh, unique and carefree perspective to documenting any wedding.

if you want to get a taste of my style then book an engagement session! the price is the same as below, $125. i'm in the process of creating a price package for weddings so if you're interested please contact me about details.

i'm shooting a wedding as a second photographer in may for ingrid & anthony. i'm pretty excited to be a part of their wedding. check back later for pictures.

here are a couple of my favorite pictures from our wedding.

yesterday i had the pleasure to shoot the dorris family at their home in berkeley. rob & barb's daughter, jerilee, is such a cutie! she did this funny thing that if you told her to smile she'd squish her mouth to one side. it cracked me up everytime.

as a bonus rob barbecued ribs & tri-tip which was delicious. it would be cool if every photo session ended with a bbq!

here's a sneak peek from yesterday.

I'm Going Public!

i'm finally taking the leap and pursuing a long time passion of photography. i've been working in the film/commericial industry for the last 10 years but i'm ready to go in another direction. before transferring to a university to major in cinema i really wanted to study photography. then one day a friend of mine said that he was going to film school! i didn't even know you could study film at that level. after that moment i was hooked... i could study moving pictures and do it in san francisco. fast forward 10 years and here i am.

last september alec and i got married. it was during all the planning & researching that i started to realize how many services cater to the wedding industry especially photography. the more and more we planned the more i thought about taking my photography skills to another level and actually make it my business. last year i made the investment and bought myself my first digital SLR camera. it's been a joy to experiment & practice.

i don't want to jump right into weddings but rather start with taking photos of babies, kids, families & couples to build a portfolio. my style is easygoing, casual & more urban shooting on location using natural light. i want to capture people in a comfortable environment being themselves and somehow snap their expressions of love & life.

for now i'm keeping my day job and taking on photo sessions on the weekends to build the portfolio. many, many thanks to alec, my family & friends who are supporting me. i can't wait to see what the future holds as i start this journey.
